Logs To Lumber In Three Easy Steps
EstimateTypically, the first step in getting your logs custom milled starts with an onsite visit. This gives us a chance to meet with you, scale your logs to get a rough estimate of the board footage, and talk about what type of milling you want done. By doing this, we are able to apply the best billing method, hourly or by the bf (board foot), that will make all involved happy.

Custom MillingThe second step is us bringing the mill to you, or you bringing your logs to us. At this point the possibilities are endless.
Beams, D-logs, dimensional lumber, boards, live edge slabs, furniture stock, wood cookies, it's your call. Either way, you will get quality work at a fair and honest price. |
Finished ProductThe final step is stacking the lumber. This will insure that proper drying will be achieved. We do this by cutting 1"x 1" stickers, which are then placed between each layer of finished lumber. We recommend that you seal the ends of your logs ASAP after the tree is cut down. This slows the drying process on the open ends of the logs, which dry at a faster rate then the edges, top, or bottom of the milled log. Anchorseal is a great product for this, or you can use regular latex paint. We also recommend sweeping all the sawdust off of the lumber before stacking. This helps prevent molding during the drying process.
